If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! Choosing to have our wedding at Bear Mountain was one of the best decisions we made in our entire wedding planning process! From the time we signed our contract to leaving the day after the wedding, the entire BMI staff (Cassie, Jessica, etc.) was so incredibly helpful and accommodating! With their help, the entire wedding went so smoothly and by the end of the weekend, we really felt like we were among family.We had a 100 person wedding this past August with half the guests having never been to Maine before. BMI was the perfect way to introduce them to the beauty of our state and guests are still talking about how amazing everything was from the barn, ceremony site, inn accommodations for the wedding, etc. We could not have been happier with our choice to get married at BMI and I would recommend them to anyone getting hitched in Maine! On top of all that, my now husband had written me a letter to read prior to our ceremony. I was devastated that it somehow was misplaced in the business of the wedding day... lo and behold, a couple months later, Jessica texted me to let me know she found it and even mailed it back to me!! It's details like that which make BMI such a special place! Can't wait to come back to visit for our anniversary!

I grew up in Waterford and never knew the Bear Mountain Inn hosted weddings, so when we went for a tour, we parked the car, and I knew immediately how special this place was. BMI is a hidden gem of a place. The grounds are beautiful (the view of Bear Pond, the large lawn, the surrounding trees, Bear Mountain on your left, recently renovated inn, everything!) and the staff is incredible! Cassie was always very quick to respond to all of my emails. I wasn't worried once I got on site the Friday before. And that's HUGE. Everyone was welcoming and so pleasant! Cassie, Jessica, Jericha, the bartenders, etc. I HIGHLY recommend hosting your wedding with BMI. It was GORGEOUS but I also felt extremely supported by the staff. The breakfast each morning was so delicious and all the rooms have a level of warmth and coziness. We stayed in the Sugar Maple Cottage which was SO great to be able to sneak away for a moment to collect ourselves from the chaos that comes with weddings! I can't rave about BMI enough. We had our ceremony at the overlook, then we had dinner in the tent, and then the reception in the barn. It was so cool to have a venue with multiple settings so our guests didn't feel stuck in one room the entire day! Cassie, Jessica, Jericha, THANK YOU. From the bottom of our hearts! The day was PERFECT and we could not be happier.

I was 16 years old when I passed this venue with my boyfriend and his mum. 5 years later we got engaged and I knew this was the place for us to get married! Being from Texas, I was worried about planning a wedding in another state. Let me tell you, the whole bear mountain team made the process so easy! The venue itself is stunning! We initially were going to have an outdoor wedding. However, the weather had other plans. Looking back, we both truly believe it was supposed to be an indoor wedding because the barn is so stunning. It is the most breathtaking venue -- the view of the water compliments the lush greenery of the field, and the rustic barn is just SO quintessential Maine! The rooms that we stayed in with our guests were pristine and truly had everything we could ever need. Cassie and everyone at Bear Mountain Inn were incredibly communicative and helpful. Cassie took care of my every want and need, and even went above and beyond to make sure that our family had everything they also needed! Their kindness was truly unmatched and their passion for what they do was so clear throughout. We were so lucky beyond measure to get to work with them on the best day of our lives. We can't wait to come back to visit!

We had the most magical day & weekend here at the Bear Mountain Inn! We wanted to celebrate our relationship for an entire weekend, and the inn really provided that. We had the most amazing time the whole weekend, celebrating our love with all our favorite people. All the staff was so welcoming, helpful, and kind throughout our whole experience. They answered any and all of my questions and helped make our wedding day our dream come true! This venue was a perfect combo of rustic & elegant, and allowed for any and all fun personalized details. Would recommend for any loving couple to tie the knot!

We had a 75 person wedding on the lawn and a 25 person rehearsal dinner in the barn- both events were stunning and our guests raved about the setting, the food and friendly service.The owners are wonderful people and the coordinator Cassie made sure ever detail was executed to perfection & on time. While seamlessly checking in with us and our guests to ensure we were taken care of, smiling and had full glasses.The Inn itself is so lovely and felt like home for the weekend, the breakfast is incredible. We are so happy we chose a venue that we can come back to for years to come as we celebrate anniversaries/special occasions. Thank you Nick, Jessica, Cassie and the entire team at Bear Mnt Inn!!!

We had the most beautiful wedding weekend at Bear Mountain Inn + Barn! We had right around 65 guests and this venue couldn't be more perfect for a small or large wedding. My favorite part about planning our wedding at Bear Mountain Inn + Barn was getting the chance to work with Cassie, the amazing Wedding Coordinator. Cassie goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect for the Bride, Groom, Bridal Party and families/guests - we love her! Bear Mountain Inn + Barn in Waterford, ME is easily the best wedding venue to get married at! From the beautiful ceremony backdrop to the incredible barn and everything in between. Nick and Jessica made our families feel at home the entire weekend staying at the inn with THE BEST BREAKFAST every morning. The inn itself has so many beautiful rooms for your friends and family to stay in during your wedding weekend. Cassie, as the wedding coordinator, did an absolutely incredible job creating the wedding of our dreams. We did not hire a wedding planner, and Cassie made sure to have herself available via email with all of our questions and concerns being answered far before our wedding date. She made sure that someone was on site when all of our rentals were being delivered, so when we arrived everything was already in place.On our wedding day, we were back and forth with the weather and actually moved all of the chairs inside to get married in the barn (which was a beautiful set up). However, once our guests had moved inside, the clouds started to move away, and we decided (about 1 minute before we were supposed to start the ceremony) that we wanted to do it outside. Instead of moving all of the chairs, Cassie ushered all of our 180 guests outside and they stood as they watched us get married in the sun. It was an amazing ceremony and our guests still talk about how exciting it was run outside to celebrate us. Our number of guests was too large to fit in the barn, so we rented a tent for dinner and then did the dancing portion in the barn. Cassie helped everything flow flawlessly throughout the entire night. Bear Mountain is the type of venue that makes you feel like family and so so loved. You are their top priority during your wedding weekend and they bend over backwards to give you what you ask for and make your wedding dreams come true. I truly could not have picked a better venue. We are excited to come back and visit over and over again! WE LOVE YOU BEAR MOUNTAIN INN!! Amazing vibes all around.

My husband (!!!) and I just got married at the Bear Mountain Inn this past weekend and it was literally the most incredible wedding in the world. Nick and Jessica go above and beyond for their couples and Cassie is an incredible day of coordinator that makes you feel like you're at home on your big day.It was pouring rain all day on Saturday and the whole BMI team made our day so special. We decided early on to have our ceremony in the beautiful barn on site and it was literally the most beautiful set up I've ever seen at a wedding. We couldn't get over how beautiful everything looked. It is such an intimate and beautiful memory that is burned in our brains for life. Our wedding was for about 160ish people so we rented a tent to do our reception outside - this couldn't have been an easier process and the tent looked like a fairy tale out on the yard.When I tell you think is the most incredible wedding venue on the face of the Earth we so mean it. Every single moment our wedding was so perfect and it was really was made possible by the team at the Bear Mountain Inn.Nick, Jessica and Cassie + team we LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH and legit cannot wait to come back in the winter to hang out and party with you guys. Our wedding at the Bear Mountain Inn was an absolute dream. Brian, Julie and Cassie really went above and beyond to have our wedding weekend be the best weekend of our lives and they succeeded! It's such a picturesque location and we couldn't have asked for anything better. The Inn, guest rooms and the grounds are treated with such care and is really a testament to the staff and owners. Breakfast each morning was delicious and you can't beat the cozy sitting areas, fire places and amenities throughout the property. You really feel like it's your home away from home! You will absolutely have the best wedding weekend at Bear Mountain Inn! We can't wait to come back and visit!

Bear Mountain Inn could not have been more perfect for our October wedding! So perfect that this was the first venue we saw and booked it on the spot. Yes, the grounds, inn, barn are incredible BUT what made this an extra special experience was having the owners Julie and Brian and Wedding planner Cassie there to help with all things wedding and welcome you as if you were family. From the moment we stepped on site for our wedding weekend we were relaxed and felt that we had nothing left to worry about. We will cherish this place forever and plan to come visit as often as we can!

We got married at Bear Mountain Inn in July of 2022 and our wedding was an absolute dream. We planned our wedding from out of state and in 6 months and Brian, Julie and Cassie were so helpful along the way. When ever we had any questions or needed a recommendation for a vendor, they were always happy to help! They made sure our wedding day was special and went smoothly. The venue is beautiful, the views are just breathtaking and the Inn is so charming and comfy (we can’t wait to go back!). The experience as a whole was incredible and we’re so happy we were able to get married there.

The venue is beautiful, the views are just breathtaking and the Inn is so charming and comfy (we can’t wait to go back!). The experience as a whole was incredible and we’re so happy we were able to get married there.

Our wedding parties and immediate families stayed with us at the Inn and everyone agreed it was the perfect getaway. Our May 21st wedding here was an absolute dream! My husband and I booked BMI without even visiting in person...we just had a feeling it was exactly what we were imagining and man oh man it was above and beyond what we could have even hoped. Not only do your closest friends and family get to stay on property with you all weekend long, the venue itself is absolutely stunning - you don't need to bring much in to decorate the spaces since the natural beauty shines through. We had dinner in a tent and danced in the barn and it was such a natural and fun flow! Julie and Brian are the absolute best people and Cassie was so incredibly helpful with the planning process. We can't recommend it enough and are secretly hoping all our friends get married there so we can go back agains soon!

Everyone at Bear Mountain Inn was always kind, professional, and responsive. The venue itself is beautiful and offers guests the opportunity to truly enjoy themselves while at your wedding – the rooms are cozy, nicely decorated, and clean, guests have access to kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards, and there are wool blankets and smores kits for use at the fire pits on cooler nights. Breakfast was also delicious, with a wide variety of options. Every last detail at the inn was carefully considered, and guests even get a pack of cookies to welcome them at check-in. The Inn offers a list of preferred vendors when you sign with them, and we used a lot of businesses off of this list – we found all of them to be wonderful to work with. On our wedding day itself, we didn’t need to worry about too many details, as Cassie helped ensure things stayed on track. Our family attended our son’s wedding earlier this month at the Bear Mountain Inn in Waterford, Maine, and we can’t begin to say enough great things about the accommodations; the venue, facilities, and grounds; and the warm hospitality shown us by Julie and Brian, Josh, and the rest of the staff at the Inn. The historic Inn and expansive grounds are absolutely beautiful. It was the perfect place for a picture perfect wedding. While the setting is idyllic, quiet, and peaceful (we could hear the loons on the lake from our rooms), there was also much for us to do — walking trails along the lake and through the woods; canoes and kayaks to use on the lake; fire pits for guests to sit and linger, relax, and visit. There were even lawn games! It all made the long weekend as much a vacation getaway as it was an event. The rooms at the Inn were first rate - quiet, comfortable, beautifully updated and stylishly appointed. Each is different, but all have retained their historic New England charm with all the modern comforts. Spacious, gorgeous bathrooms, modern (quiet!) heating/ac, gas fireplaces, refrigerators, luxury bedding and towels. The little details throughout the Inn were nice as well — charming common areas stocked with water and other helpful amenities, plus spaces indoors and out for guests to kick back and relax. And the huge, made-from-scratch New England breakfasts really topped off the whole experience.In these times I also feel it is important to mention how well the staff addressed COVID safety, sanitation, and protection. Everyone was vaccinated (in addition to the wedding party and all guests) and the vendors also wore masks when interacting with the guests. Everything was spotless and well sanitized. With breezes off the lake and an abundance of fresh air, the outdoor spaces afforded plenty of room for anyone who wanted to maintain a little more distance. Likewise, indoor spaces were roomy and never felt crowded. Our family is quite careful and we felt very safe - almost like a little respite from the pandemic.Our son reports that the Inn facilitated and coordinated every aspect of the rehearsal, ceremony and reception (basically like having an on-site wedding planner), and that he and his new wife were completely satisfied. Other reviewers seem to concur.. The barn itself was wonderful — \"rustic but elegant,\" and the attached pub/bar area provided all the additional facilities needed for an event (great bar area, prep kitchen, attractive restrooms, etc). The existing decor, including the amazing chandeliers, would have been enough without any extras, though there are some great optional items to use if desired (our son and daughter-in-law opted to have Josh hang a couple of the striking sheer draperies). Josh did an outstanding job personally directing every detail of the rehearsal, ceremony, and reception - where to walk and when, what to expect throughout - and it all went like clockwork. We had a lakeside ceremony with perfect weather, but no doubt Josh would have had us swiftly under cover if needed. The Bear Mountain Inn really is a wonderful place for any kind of getaway. For us, as the parents of the groom and guests at the wedding, we can’t imagine that a couple could find a better place to get married and host their friends and family. Bear Mountain Inn was the absolute perfect place for our ceremony and reception. It was so special to be able to share our weekend with our family and friends, with many of them staying on-site for a \"summer camp\" feel, as one of our guests put it! We loved the extra time this afforded to hang out with our guests before and after the wedding, since the day-of was definitely a bit of a blur! We couldn't have found a more beautiful venue - in the months leading up to our day, my fiance and I quickly realized that we could do absolutely nothing to the decor of the barn and still have it be incredible. We opted to add some drapes to the barn for our reception and were so pleased at how it turned out.Throughout the entire planning process, Josh & co. were flexible, helpful, and informative. They helped us with each one of our specific questions, with everything from \"How long is the walk down the aisle?\" to \"Can we use this piece of decor we saw in your Instagram photos?\" It's also really wonderful that they include so much in their contract - it was great to not have to worry about hiring bar services or renting things like linens, tables, and chairs!Bear Mountain Inn is the perfect rustic-chic location for your big day. It also helps that they have such close relationships with many of the other vendors you'll need, so they can give great advice about other pros to round out your day!

We loved the extra time this afforded to hang out with our guests before and after the wedding, since the day-of was definitely a bit of a blur! We couldn't have found a more beautiful venue - in the months leading up to our day, my fiance and I quickly realized that we could do absolutely nothing to the decor of the barn and still have it be incredible. We opted to add some drapes to the barn for our reception and were so pleased at how it turned out.Throughout the entire planning process, Josh & co. were flexible, helpful, and informative. They helped us with each one of our specific questions, with everything from \"How long is the walk down the aisle?\" to \"Can we use this piece of decor we saw in your Instagram photos?\" It's also really wonderful that they include so much in their contract - it was great to not have to worry about hiring bar services or renting things like linens, tables, and chairs!Bear Mountain Inn is the perfect rustic-chic location for your big day. It also helps that they have such close relationships with many of the other vendors you'll need, so they can give great advice about other pros to round out your day!

Our bridal party stayed at the inn for the weekend and they have not stopped raving about the stay. Each room is unique and comfortable, and the included breakfast is amazing. The best part of the experience was the team. We had to postpone our wedding due to Covid and they could not have been more kind and understanding, not only helping us find a new date but in fact opening up their wedding season earlier than usual. The owners, Brian and Julie, have done a superb job at making you feel at home while at the Inn. It's no surprise that in some of our other visits, there have been numerous couples visiting who had previously married there, as they truly make it feel like a big family. The wedding coordinator, Cassie, was thoughtful and attentive throughout the entire process, and along with Josh were instrumental in keeping things organized and stress-free for us on our big day. We cannot recommend them enough!

Julie & Brian are two of the loveliest, hardest-working humans we have ever met. Cassie - our wedding coordinator - was a DREAM, handling everything leading up to our wedding, to the big day itself, making everything seamless. I was a COVID bride who had intentions of having a 200 person wedding which eventually turned into an intimate 40 something person celebration. Wedding planning is stressful enough, so when the pandemic hit I had all the questions every other Bride had - what will happen to our day? Will this still be happening? How will our venue react and how do we navigate from here? It took one phone call with Julie & Brian to realize we had hit the jackpot. They heard all our concerns, validated our feelings, and made sure we knew they were on our side to work with and be as flexible as possible. You can't imagine the relief we felt after that call knowing no matter what we decided to do, they would work with us so we could have the day we wanted. And let me tell you, we had the most magical wedding WEEKEND (another huge reason we chose BMI - it is very fun to stay/party with your closest people who are all staying at the same location). The outdoor space is the perfect backdrop for the wedding pictures (that speaks for itself) - a total fairytale setting. The barn is equally as beautiful. My friends and family could not stop talking about all the elegant details. The venue is beautiful, but that is not even the best part. When you book Bear Mountain Inn as a wedding venue, you are booking not just a wedding venue but a once in a lifetime experience. You get to spend a weekend (not just your wedding day) with your friends and family in the most beautiful and relaxing location you can imagine. How often do you get to spend a weekend with all your family and best friends in the same place? Julie and Brian (owners of the Inn) and the entire crew at Bear Mountain Inn truly make you feel like you are staying in a home away from home. I am still dreaming about the delicious homemade breakfast we enjoyed every morning. Julie, Brian, and Bear Mountain Inn Crew (a special shout out to Jamie and Cassie) were so kind and attentive to every detail. Seeing the chandeliers in the barn, touring the inn, and meeting the owners just sealed the deal. I was sold in 15 minutes, how could I say no to this gorgeous property? The property is a perfect mixture of rustic, modern, and elegant. Along the way, Cassie, the wedding coordinator, went above and beyond to answer all my planning questions. Julie and Brian treated everyone like family and were present the whole weekend to make sure everything went perfectly. Our wedding was literally a dream come true and it all has to do with Bear Mountain Inn. We had the whole property for 2 nights which made it incredible to have our wedding party and immediate family there with us through it all. Bear Mountain Inn has many beautiful places for getting ready, taking pictures, and spending time with loved ones. More importantly, the customer service and hospitality made us feel like we were in a fairytale. Our family and friends are still talking about how amazing our wedding was. We had people tell us that have been to numerous weddings that this was the best wedding they have ever been to, even better than their own! I cannot recommend this venue enough. The cost is well worth it, as your wedding day memories are priceless. You will not be disappointed. All the little details do not matter so much, but people will certainly remember the venue and the service. Our wedding was literally a dream come true and it all has to do with Bear Mountain Inn. We had the whole property for 2 nights which made it incredible to have our wedding party and immediate family there with us through it all. Bear Mountain Inn has many beautiful places for getting ready, taking pictures, and spending time with loved ones. More importantly, the customer service and hospitality made us feel like we were in a fairytale. Our family and friends are still talking about how amazing our wedding was. We had people tell us that have been to numerous weddings that this was the best wedding they have ever been to, even better than their own! I cannot recommend this venue enough. The cost is well worth it, as your wedding day memories are priceless. You will not be disappointed. All the little details do not matter so much, but people will certainly remember the venue and the service. I only wish we could relive it all again as it truly was a magical experience at Bear Mountain Inn!

We were first struck by Cassie’s energy, and then intoxicated by Brian and Julie’s enthusiasm. Their warmth and vision blew us away as we toured during the remodel. That vision was fully realized as BMI is truly spectacular! This venue brings together all the elements we love- water, woods, mountains and glorious rustic chic decor. The competition was no match for the opportunity to spend our weekend at such a beautiful venue with wonderful people. Even booking nearly two years out, we found at every contact point that BMI was available to answer our questions, even odd and specific ones. They responded quickly and professionally, and conveyed a care and attention to detail. Cassie impressed us with her organization and eye for detail, helping us through elements that even our dedicated planning had missed. Brian and Julie are involved in every aspect of the operation and always offer personal greetings. They are warm, wonderful, and interesting people you will be happy to stay with. The venue itself is incomparable. The rooms are gorgeous, charming, and beautifully appointed. The Barn is beautiful and the chandeliers a beloved detail of ours. The layout and design is conducive to every component of an event. Each space is so distinct that you turn a corner or go through a door and enter another world, as equipped and comfortable as the one you just left. Breakfasts: amazing, unique, made to order, personal requests honored! It would be difficult to overstate the dining experience. The trails, dock, lake, hammocks, chairs, fields, patio, and fireplaces/s’mores stations are wonderful spots to relax, take pictures, or play games. We even jumped in the lake in our wedding attire! There were more spaces than we could reasonably use for gorgeous photo opportunities. The photographers and our guests raved about how impressed they were with every small detail of the property. The day after our wedding, we made use of the massage cottage, allowing us to completely unwind after days of activity. From helping us unload our cars the moment we arrived, to their personal sendoff, Brian, Julie, and Cassie helped every step of the way. Cleanup after the event was rapid and complete; we had brought an incredible amount of décor but found everything boxed up for easy loading following the reception. The efficiency and experience of the staff prevented me from worrying about a thing on the big day- ensuring that we ate, keeping us to time, and presenting us with our first drinks after we tied the knot (OMG, the bartenders made our signature cocktails PERFECTLY!) During ceremony prep, my husband was having a slight panic regarding lanterns. Julie stepped in, calmly guiding and then taking over the process to ensure that it looked amazing. Cassie exceeded all our expectations and kept the show on the rails - helping us craft our timeline, guiding us from scene to scene effortlessly- and did it all with a smile! We had an unorthodox twist on the cake ceremony- intending to share mini whoopie pies. Cassie recognized that we had no tools or plans and immediately collaborated with our photographers to put together a “Lady and the Tramp” inspired scene. It worked out perfectly, and we are so grateful for her ingenuity. Bear Mountain Inn is an incredible venue - quiet, stunning, easily accessible to Portland. We couldn’t be happier with the choice to have our wedding here, and felt supported and cared for at every turn. We are so excited to return!

We knew all along that the experience was going to be great, as we know the owners and have spent a lot of time there helping clean the property. But to experience being a guest and hosting our wedding there was a better experience then we could have imagined. First of all, Brian and Julie are two of the best people I have ever had the pleasure to work with. They treat everyone like family. You feel like you are visiting relatives whenever you drop by or stay. The level of care and consideration that goes into that Inn is beyond description. From the child size robe they left for my son, to the umbrellas that just appeared during the sudden ceremony shower, to having leftovers from our catered meal waiting for us in our room after the reception- we were and are continually impressed with their superb hospitality. Cassie, the on site coordinator, was amazing and worked hard to execute the most important day of our lives. The amount of stress that the staff at Bear Mountain Inn relieved from us during our weekend is beyond words. Besides the amazing people, the grounds of the Inn are beautiful and the scenery is breathtaking. The rooms are cozy and clean, and did I mention the breakfast?? Best blueberry pancakes I've ever had. And I think that was a unanimous opinion from all of my guests. The only bad part of the weekend was that it had to end. Thank you Bear Mountain Inn for creating such a beautiful place for people to spend with their family and friends. It was the best weekend of my life and I will never forget it.

Where do I even begin with how AMAZING this venue was! We loved how personal and special we were made to feel from the first viewing right through to the follow up after our wedding. The owners, Brian and Julie are some of the nicest and most genuine people you will ever meet and really take the time to get to know you, not only you as the bride and groom but all of your guests who are staying the weekend with you. Cassie, the wedding coordinator, was awesome to work with! She is thorough, prompt with responses to questions and extremely organized, she was never more then a quick email away. All 3 of them were nothing but extremely helpful during our wedding weekend, especially the day of, they are right there with anything you need.The property itself, GORGEOUS! The Inn is completely renovated and let me tell you they did not miss a detail, its modern but still has that cozy feel you want at a bed and breakfast. My husband and I stayed 5 nights with our Golden Retriever and all 3 of us felt completely comfortable and at home, we actually were all very sad the day we had to leave! And if you are looking for an authentic rustic barn this is the place for you. The two chandeliers in the barn are just gorgeous, it is something you just have to see in person. The patio where we had our ceremony overlooking the lake was just absolutely breathtaking! We have received so many compliments from our guests on this venue! My husband really wanted our reception in an authentic old barn and we both have a love for mountains, water and nature, and this venue had it all! And the fact that they only do ONE wedding a weekend was such a big deal to us! Our guests got to stau with us and enjoyed everything this property had to offer for 3 amazing nights and all of them are still raving about the breakfast buffet each morning! I could just go on and on about this property and venue but I will end with it is 100% worth it to check them out, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. We will definitely be back many times to come as Inn guests!

Julie & Brian are the owners and live on site. They are down to earth friendly and caring people that are always offering to help with even the smallest things. Their staff is amazing as well. Danni & Jamie are two of the bar tenders that I met during my stay. These ladies rock, and add to the fun filled event or weekend that you stay. Bottom line when your stay is over you will think the staff and Julie and Brian should be leaving with you, like they were just guests as well. The grounds around the Inn are beautiful. Professionally maintained and when maintenance is needed it is quick and at a reasonable hour. There is also, swimming, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and hiking trails on the property along and in bear lake.There is plenty of room for a wedding party to stay at the venue, plus some family as well. Rooms are cozy and updated but still have the rustic Maine / barn / farmhouse feel. This is the perfect venue for a wedding or a weekend get away. I’m already planning a trip back just for a weekend away. Highly recommended if your looking, to check this place out!

This venue was absolutely a DREAM! Words can't describe how happy my husband and I chose the Bear Mountain Inn to get married this July. First off, Cassie worked with me throughout my planning stages over text or email - she was not only the perfect day of coordinator but also helped me with planning and I couldn't thank her enough! Julie and Brian (the owners) are also SO amazing - they worked so hard all weekend to make sure everything was taken care of and all the guests were happy. They all thought of everything and beyond. Our guests are still raving about how beautiful the venue was and how the inn was impeccable, the food was phenomenal and the grounds were so well maintained. Our favorite part is being able to stay at the inn with our family and bridal party next door and it was intimate and everything we wanted! Overall, we would recommend this venue to anyone who wants a beautiful rustic barn overlooking a massive plot of land with lots of greenery, private lake and mountains in the back. From the moment my now husband (yay!) and I walked on the property at Bear Mountain Inn we knew that this was exactly where we wanted to say \"I Do\". The location was quiet and relaxing, and the large lawn, view of the water and access to swimming and kayaking, and walking trails checked everything off of our must-have list. Then we met the owners Brian and Julie, and the wedding coordinator Cassie and they were the icing on the cake. They answered all of our questions thoroughly, took the time to explain details, got to know us and our story, and were genuinely excited to share such a special moment in our lives. The entire planning process went smoothly, even when we threw them a couple of curveballs and had last minute changes. They always offered advice when needed which was extremely helpful and never complained of a change. Even my friends and family were thrilled with the attention to detail by all of them. Our guests loved the rooms they were staying in and were delighted by how delicious breakfast was each morning. Our entire wedding weekend was very low key, and perfect. The rehearsal dinner included our walkthrough with Cassie and the bridal party, followed by pizza, cornhole, swimming, kayaking and a bonfire. The wedding day also went off without a hitch. Brian and Julie were extremely helpful in getting everything set up, but they were not constantly \"in your face\" about it, which was super helpful. Cassie was like Wonder Woman, no joke. She had our timeline in hand and was incredible at making sure people knew where to be and when. She even acted as a seamstress when the strap to my wedding gown broke free, multiple times. I always counted on her to rush to me and pin me back in. As for our actual wedding; we had our ceremony on the patio on the lawn overlooking the water, our cocktail hour on the patio in front of the barn, and our reception inside the barn. The flow of everything was perfect. We had options when it came to decorating the barn and we decided to keep it fairly simple. We had 120 people in attendance and we all fit very comfortably in all of the spaces including the barn. I couldn't have imagined my wedding any other way and I am so thankful for Brian, Julie, Cassie and their entire staff at Bear Mountain Inn for everything they did for us over the three days we were there. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for their perfect wedding venue. We cannot wait to go back for a stay!!

When him and I decided to get married we were at a wedding show where we met Julie, Brian and Cassie. We weren't looking for a destination wedding at first but I couldn't get past their brochure we decided to stay for a weekend and see what it was all about. We stayed in the cottage our first time and absolutely fell in love with the entire location and the 3 of them. We created a ton of memories at their beautiful venue and we couldn't wait to share it with all of our family and friends. The weekend of the wedding the 3 of them and their staff went completely above and beyond to make sure every vision we had came to life. The weekend was truly a fairytale and our guests cant stop talking about how amazing their entire venue is. I cannot say enough good things about this venue and the owners. Our wedding was absolutely perfect. Because weddings go by so quickly, we wanted to make a weekend out of it- we did just that. Our rehearsal dinner was in the barn at the Bear Mountain Inn followed by all of our friends and family sitting by the fire on site. The morning of our wedding we woke up in our gorgeous room (mountain ash) and had breakfast in the adorable dining room with all of our family. We then spent some time out on the lake before getting ready for our ceremony, held over the breathtaking lake. We got ready in the post and beam and had lunch set up for all of the bridal party. After our beautiful ceremony, we had a rented reception at the top of the hill, and took pictures in the sun kissed woods below. Julie and Brian (the owners) were amazing and made sure all of our wishes were met. As a bride, my mind was at ease all day, trusting my vendors and the owners would put everything together beautifully. They did just that. I can’t say enough good things about the Bear Mountain Inn. Our families had an amazing time, as did we. We cannot wait to return!

My husband and I eloped here and it was truly the most perfect weekend. We could not have imagined a better way to get married (and in such a beautiful setting)! The weather was beautiful, the innkeepers were attentive and pleasant, and our handful of guests thoroughly enjoyed the property (who doesn't love waking up for a morning kayak trip around the lake or ending the night in a bonfire?). We'll be coming back for reunions with our friends and to celebrate our future anniversaries. We definitely recommend this venue.

We chose the Bear Mountain Inn as our wedding venue because it gave us access to all the things we love most about Maine: lake activities, fall foliage, stunning property for hiking and cozy accommodations. Julie, Brian and Cassie were wonderful to work with, not only on our wedding weekend but during the planning process as well. We were excited to have a whole weekend with our friends and family on the property, but our experience exceeded our expectations. The staff were warm and inviting. Breakfasts were provided onsite and were delicious. The amenities that were provided throughout the Inn for all of the guests were thoughtful. Every detail was planned for and they provided just about everything we could have needed. We had our rehearsal dinner onsite the night before the wedding and everything was setup and taken down for us. We had our ceremony out on the patio and the reception in the barn. The Inn provided tables, chairs, linens, dishes, etc. for us which made it a lot easier. Bathrooms were included within the facility and there was plenty of space for everything we had planned. We couldn't have been happier with our experience and we highly recommend the Inn to anyone who is looking to get married in Maine. The inn grounds are gorgeous, the lake is so much fun to hang out on, and the trails on the property were perfect for morning walks with our dog Baxter. We rented out the Inn for the weekend so our whole family could stay with us that weekend, and it ended up being one of the best decisions we made for the weekend. From the time everybody checked in to the inn, to the rehearsal dinner, to the wedding, every single detail was taken care of. Julie, Brian, and the wedding coordinator Cassie were amazing on my wedding day, and there was not a single thing out of place. We met with the new owners Julie and Brian Sullivan and while touring, came to love them and their plans to renovate the property. We booked the Bear Mountain Inn immediately for our daughter's wedding weekend events to be held in July 2018. They delivered on everything we asked with excellence, and it was delightful working with them from start to finish.This venue has fun as it's middle name. In addition to the three flawless events they created for us at BMI, there are many goodies on site. They have a great assortment of beautifully re-docorated rooms for guests to chose from which include standard rooms, interesting suites, a private cottage and a family or group lodge with it's own kitchen. Our guests found it convenient and relaxing to stay at BMI where there are numerous, cozy gathering places, lots of lake toys, and games to be enjoyed inside or out on the lawn. We made wonderful memories enjoying all the extras while gazing at the lake at BMI.The only thing superior to the property itself, is the exceptional hospitality and warmth provided by Julie and Brian and their caring and efficient staff. They went over and above our expectations, and their experience allowed them to take care of things before we even knew there was a need. And another perk ... Brian is savvy with technology and can interface with any audio/video presentation needs you may have.We are very grateful to everyone at BMI who helped create all the joy we experienced throughout the weekend. We just got married at Bear Mountain Inn and the day exceeded beyond our imagination! The venue is absolutely stunning! We had our ceremony over looking the lake and the reception to follow in the newly renovated barn. The views, decorations, service was outstanding. The patio with the fire pit is a cozy touch for your guests to get some air and relax outside a bit while the party still goes on inside. Brian and Julie went above and beyond to make sure we had everything that we needed and the smallest details were taken care of all before the big day. We just got married at Bear Mountain Inn and the day exceeded beyond our imagination! The venue is absolutely stunning! We had our ceremony over looking the lake and the reception to follow in the newly renovated barn. The views, decorations, service was outstanding. The patio with the fire pit is a cozy touch for your guests to get some air and relax outside a bit while the party still goes on inside. Brian and Julie went above and beyond to make sure we had everything that we needed and the smallest details were taken care of all before the big day. They are an outstanding couple to work with and made our wedding day that much more special. We highly recommend Bear Mountain Inn if you are looking for a rustic barn venue<3

My now husband and I had our wedding here and it was EXCEPTIONAL. Julie and Brian made sure that every single detail was perfectly planned and executed. We stayed beyond our wedding for a luxurious and relaxing mini moon. Our bridal party & family stayed here and had the time of their lives, so much so that they're already planning a reunion back at the bear mountain inn. Julie and Brian are amazing people who take so much joy in making the inn feel like a home away from home. Our only wish is that we could have stayed for longer. Thank you for the perfect start to the rest of our lives!!!!!

My wife did most of the work and wedding planning, so I have to give her credit with picking the venue and caterer. I sincerely enjoyed working with the new owners - Julie and Brian - as they were professional and very responsive to all out questions. The barn was recently refinished prior to our wedding and it was very well done. The grounds were beautifully decorated and maintained. Our wedding had 120 guests and we comfortably fit in the barn for our reception. We had our rehearsal dinner in the upper post and beam because of weather, but it was a blessing in disguise! Overall I highly recommend the Bear Mountain Inn for your special day!

This is a tough review, because in truth our wedding was beautiful and memorable, but that was largely due to the caterers (302 Smokehouse for food), our amazing parents and friends, and Mother Nature, who delivered us perfect weather. The Bear Mountain Inn is probably perfect for a small wedding, but ours was close to 120, and the innkeeper, Christi, was definitely understaffed--there simply needed to be more help. The day before, our check in was delayed (we arrived promptly at 3). The day of the wedding, she tried to eliminate a table--to make room--which was stressful and impossible. We had cards with names and table numbers. A friend had to go and negotiate with her. Part of the reason she wanted to eliminate a table was because the tent was too small--which we didn't understand. Why wasn't a larger tent ordered? Had it rained, we would have been in trouble. Other problematic details... The space for our ketubah signing was not set up, and the room we were told we could do it in was untenable. The Post and Beam space had no hot water, and there wasn't a reduction on the rate for our accommodating guests. We only knew the hot tub wasn't working after we explicitly asked. We had to ask multiple times in the weeks before to get cider as one of our drink options--the first time we asked for it, she only purchased wine. We ordered donuts for dessert, and she threw them away before the end of the night--we would have loved to have them for the after party. In other words, there were issues with both small and big details (the elimination of a table is a BIG detail). Then, after the wedding, she lost the credit card information for most of our guests--thus delaying the return of my father's deposit. An important note--we originally were going to have the rehearsal there as well, but Christi wanted to charge upwards of 8,000 dollars for a meal of hot dogs and hamburgers. We were able to have it at another location for less than half the price, with lobster rolls.We can (and will) take some responsibility. We should have sat down with Christi the night before and gone over EVERY DETAIL. If you do choose to work with the Inn, know you can have a BEAUTIFUL wedding. But there certainly was a lot of stress--and much of it unnecessary. I hope Christi brings on extra staff to give every couple the wedding they deserve :-)

The Bear Mountain Inn is an unbelievably gorgeous location for an outdoor wedding ceremony (weather permitting of course!). The catering venue they hired had very professional staff and the food was very good. \rThere were a lot of changes going on during the year leading up to our wedding, so the communication wasn't exceptionally great--and we got bounced around to three different people handling the wedding. However, that seems to be in the past now that the owner Christi is taking over in the day-to-day running of the Inn and the weddings. She was very helpful the day of and was much more responsive to questions and concerns. \rThe rooms and grounds of the Inn are very well-kept and the location is truly gorgeous. \rI would recommend having a wedding here--especially if you're looking for a rustic/country setting.

I have a somewhat mixed review of our recent wedding at the Bear Mountain Inn. All said and done, the wedding was PERFECT, the weather and setting was beautiful, and everything came off without a hitch. We had a very small wedding with just immediate families and some friends, and the Inn was extremely flexible and friendly in catering to what we wanted and ensuring that our friends/family had a wonderful stay. My only reservation is that the event coordinator was extremely difficult to get ahold of in the initial planning stages of our wedding. I had very spotty responses from her via email, and had to call a number of times (both her cell phone and the Inn's main number), as did my guests (!!!) to get a response, confirm rooms, etc. Starting at about 2 weeks before the actual wedding, she suddenly became very responsive and everything got nailed down fine. The decorations, food, etc were even better than what I had expected on the actual day. So I would highly recommend this place as a venue for B-type, laid-back, not-gonna-worry brides with a small number of guests. Although I certainly don't think I was demanding or anything approaching bridezilla status, the fact that so many details were left to the last minute really caused me a good amount of stress during the planning process, and it's a factor to consider!
